■Mangalam Yoga Peeth

Yoga Ashram, Mangalam Yoga Peeth (Regd.) was founded by Akiko Kawasaki in 2007. It is situated at Tapovan, Shivanandanagar (Rishikesh) in Tehri-Garhwal District of Uttarakhand, India.

Mangalam Yoga Peeth aims to help yoga students understand that the true aim of yoga is not limited to the practice of Asana and Pranayama, and to teach the traditional teachings of the ways by which the final aim of Yoga is achieved.

Akiko Kawasaki hails from Saga, Japan.

She changed her residence to Tapovan (near Rishikesh) in 2004. She founded Mangalam Yoga Peeth in 2007.

She has studied yoga under Ms. Junko Tomonaga and Mr. Kiyoshi Naruse. In 2008 she was initiated by Sri Devendra Vigyani.

■Swami Viswarupananda

Swami Viswarupananda

Swami Viswarupananda hails from Odisha, India.

He has undergone yoga training in the Bihar School of Yoga, and received teachings from saints and masters.

After completing the Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy course at the Divine Life Society (Sivananda Ashram) he stayed on in the ashram to teach Asanas in the Academy and regular ashram asana classes.

He left Sivananda Ashram in 2006, and founded Mangalam Yoga Peeth in 2007 along with Akiko Kawasaki.
